mobility comfort levels
While our Tour Activity Level describes what to expect on a tour, our Mobility Comfort Level is personal to each traveler. Different destinations offer different accessibility when it comes to accommodations, terrain, and activities to name a few. The full tour itinerary will list a suggested mobility comfort level to help travelers find the right tour for them.
1
Ground floor rooms and as little walking as possible are best for me.
I will skip walking tours and arrange a taxi for myself if the group is walking more than a quarter of a mile or just opt to find a nice place to sit and knit.
Standing during tours is also a problem.
2
One flight of stairs is okay in some places, but I will need to ask someone for help with taking luggage to my room and am willing to pay hotel staff porterage wherever possible.
Ground floor rooms are preferred if possible.
I will be okay with a walking tour for 45-60 minutes covering up to 2 miles.
3
I am comfortable walking up a flight or two.
I am capable of bringing up my luggage if no one is on hand to help.
I am capable of doing a 90-120 minute walking tour, and walking up to 3 miles is fine with me.
4
I am capable of being on a higher floor sometimes as I understand there will be others who will need lower floor rooms.
I love to walk and have no problems walking distances of 4 miles.
5
I am very comfortable with distances, hikes and walking tours up to 6-10 miles in a day.
I can walk up flights of stairs and carry my own luggage as needed.
